Barry & Fitzwilliam wins Business to Arts Award

Barry & Fitzwilliam won the Best Sponsorship (under €25,000) for its ongoing support of the Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival in the Allianz Business to Arts Awards announced in Dublin Castle recently.

The awards, presented by President Mary McAleese, recognise businesses, artists and arts organisations that develop creative partnerships, bringing the arts and artists into the workplace and building mutually beneficial sponsorship relationships. ?“As lead sponsor of this unique Festival we have seen at first-hand how the community has grown its connection with film and film-making over the last three years, with a core of young entrepreneurs and creative people working together to bring the Festival to an international standard.

They have developed strong relationships with the Mexican Institute of Cinematography and the Mexican Ambassador, adding a Mexican strand to their film programme, which, in turn is a good fit for our target demographic,” said Michael Barry, Managing Director of Corona distributor Barry & Fitzwilliam.

The Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival is an independent festival which takes place annually in Schull, West Cork, on the last weekend in May.
