World Record Tasting at IPG

This year’s Irish Pubs Global event will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest-ever Irish Whiskey Tasting.

Irish Pubs Global is speaking to a number of Irish whiskey partners about going into the history books as the IPG conference and trade show – the only dedicated trade event for the pub trade in Ireland – runs this September 27th-28th at Citywest Hotel, Dublin.

Over the last three years, thousands of pub owners attending this event have acquired great insight into their sector from experts in the industry. The pub owners – from both Ireland and abroad – also acquired some good practical knowledge and tips from fellow publicans working at the coalface of the industry.

50% of attendees have been publicans based in Ireland and all have learned something useful and productive that they can bring to their own businesses.

“The event is free thanks to IPG’s event sponsors including Guinness, Dubai Duty Free and The Irish Village Dubai,” explained IPG’s Business Development Director Kevin McPartland, “This year’s lineup is packed with up-to-the-minute information on the latest trends, technology and practices for today’s publican.

“There will be a wealth of new products at the show with some of Ireland’s finest crafted drinks, innovative technologies and catering products including coffees showcased at the event. These innovative Irish suppliers are helping improve the sector, making pubs more efficient and profitable not just in Ireland, but overseas too.

“While the upturn in the hospitality industry is evident in the cities, rural pubs still have considerable challenges to meet. One of the most rewarding activities for those publicans has been the availability of other publicans to network with and share tips.

“The Gala Awards Dinner has always been one of the great highlights of the show with some of Ireland’s most innovative suppliers, pubs and bar staff being recognised for their contribution to the industry.”
