Torres becomes 1st major Fairtrade winery in Chile

Torres’ Santa Digna range has obtained International Fairtrade Certification, proof of Torres’ commitment to the community and workers in Chile.

The certification indicates that the winery has paid fair prices for raw materials, has provided decent working conditions for its employees and has taken measures to preserve the environment throughout the winemaking process. The initiative reflects the constant innovation and efforts towards social responsibility and concern for the wellbeing of collaborators that the company has demonstrated since its beginnings, according to Torres.

Following the earthquake last year, it began the building of sustainable homes for those whose houses were destroyed.
The widely-awarded Miguel Torres Santa Digna Rosé 2010 is a perfect lunchtime drink, excellent as an aperitif or with charcuterie on a Saturday and ideal with oriental food.

Currently Miguel Torres is in the process of certifying all of its vineyards as organic. This is in addition to the use of renewable energy, a policy which Miguel Torres has developed since its initiation in efforts to reduce CO2 emissions as much as possible.
