Outgoing President Joe Mannion was thanked by the delegates for his outstanding contribution to the well-being of the retail members of the CSNA.

A most enjoyable evening followed, sponsored by the Irish Daily Mail at which over 300 delegates and trade partners heard Paul Henderson on behalf of the Irish Daily Mail thank retailers for their ongoing commitment to retailing news products.
Guest speaker, newly elected Chairman of the National Newspapers of Ireland, Paul Cooke reminded retailers of the unique selling point that is offered by the newspaper category, and urged them through their association to consider new and sustainable ways to market the products.

The Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney TD presented three defibrillators to the families of past CEO Pat Mc Keown, and past president JJ O’Hara and Conor Crowley on behalf of the CSNA in recognition of the immense esteem the members of the association held for their departed colleagues. These units will be placed in Arklow, Foxford and Crosshaven for use in the local community as a fitting memorial to our late friends.
