March on-trade sales volumes down 81%

Bar sales volumes were down 81.3% in March compared to the same month in 2020 according to provisional seasonally-adjusted figures from the Central Statistics Office.
Across the three-month period January to March bar sales volumes declined 88.8% while values were down 88.4% when compared to the same quarter in 2020.

Bar sales values showed a decline of 80.8%.

Compared to the previous month, February 2021, March’s bar sales volumes were down 1.6% while values fell 2.2%.

Final seasonally-adjusted figures for February show a 91.5% decline in bar sales volumes and a 91.2% decline in values when compared to February 2020 figures.

February’s sales volumes were down 15.0% on January while values showed a decline of 14.2%.

Across the three-month period January to March bar sales volumes declined 88.8% while values were down 88.4% when compared to the same quarter in 2020.

Comparing the Q1 of 2021 to Q4 of 2020 bar sales volumes were down 64.5% while values were down 63.9%.

Retail sales volumes generally were down 1.9% last March.
