Irish wine stars rise again

NOffLA's ninth annual Irish Wine Show on 29 September promises to be the not-to-be-missed event, with opportunities to boost Christmas sales ahead of the rest

NOffLA members are reminded that this year’s Irish Wine Show will be held at the Pavilion in Leopardstown, Dublin 18, on Tuesday, 29 September 2009, from 10.30am to 5pm. This will be the ninth wine show hosted by the National Off-Licence Association at which the Gold Star Awards are presented and is now part of the industry’s calendar of not-to-be missed events. This year’s show will be spectacular, being the biggest ever of its kind and incorporating product and suppliers from each and every aspect of the off-licence trade.

The retail environment will continue to change and to challenge retailers. The deciding factors enabling independent off-licences to remain both competitive and profitable over the next 10 years include range of product, quality of service and staff knowledge. Margins will continue to be squeezed by the ever-growing pressure from multiples and discount stores, so the independent off-licence must have a broader and more thoughtful range of products, improved level of customer service and a more efficient and knowledgeable staff.

The ninth annual Irish Wine Show will provide NOffLA members and staff with an excellent opportunity to look at the newest products, latest vintages and revisit some ‘old reliables’ before competitors have a chance to do so. Those attending will also be able avail of a range of special offers courtesy of NOffLA’s associate members and only available to those attending the show in person.

For trade visitors, time spent at the show is a great investment. The opportunity to meet suppliers in one place, on one day, can save you so much time and money. The Irish Wine Show is exclusive to members of the National Off-Licence Association. With this in mind, the show is aimed at owners, managers and staff of independent off-licences.

A visit to the Irish Wine Show will be enjoyable, educational and profitable. Perhaps you are looking to update your wine range; you can taste some of the best fine wines on the market today and maybe expand your range in areas that you are weak in. Or perhaps you simply want to be one of the first to taste the winners of the Irish Wine Show Gold Star Awards.

There are many benefits to be gained by attending the show, principally the opportunity to improve your business, and ultimately your profitability. You will have the chance to taste from an incredible selection, including some great new vintages, so it is the perfect place to meet new suppliers and deal with existing ones. You can get to meet them in a relaxed and open environment and discuss the specific needs of your business.

The Irish Wine Show is a genuine business opportunity. Members are able to explore and taste over 2,000 wines from Ireland’s leading importers. Lasting an entire day in September at The Pavilion in Leopardstown Racecourse, it is inevitable that you will discover great wines, get a first look at Christmas deals and meet new and existing suppliers to help you make your business more profitable. For just one day participants will have the opportunity to become immersed in the Irish Drinks Industry of 2009, meet the people who operate it and source everything necessary to deliver the best product offering to your customers.

The highlight of the Irish Wine Show will take place at 2pm, when those attending will be able to witness the announcement of the winners of the Gold Star Awards 2010.
