Alcohol prices up 0.5% in off-trade in October
The price of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco fell by 2.7 per cent in the year to October. This compares to an increase of 7.1 per cent for the year to October last year. However over the three month period August to October the price rose by 0.5 per cent (and by 0.2 per cent on September).
In the month of October itself, Alcohol prices rose 0.5 per cent in the off-trade. Price increases of 1.6 per cent were recorded in the off-trade for Wine & Cider while Beer prices fell by 0.8 per cent and Spirits by 0.7 per cent in October compared to September.
Alcohol prices overall in October were down 4.4 per cent on the year and up by 0.1 per cent on September.
In the on-trade Wine & Cider prices fell 0.2 per cent in the month and Beer fell by 0.1 per cent with no change on the same three-month period August to October last year.
