Whiskey Live for October Bank Holiday

The fourth Whiskey Live Dublin takes place in the Round Room of The Mansion House in Dublin on Saturday 25th October 2014 and tickets are now available for two sessions, 2.00-5.30pm and 6.00-9.30pm.

This international celebration brings together whiskies from around the world alongside great food, masterclasses and entertainment. It makes learning about whiskey both fun and stimulating whether you’re a whiskey enthusiast, an uninitiated newcomer or just looking for a day out that offers you something different.

Visitors can enjoy sampling some of the greatest whiskies in the world including Irish, Scotch, American & Japanese varieties whilst mingling with producers and distillers.

This year one of the world’s top cocktail bartenders, Jack McGarry from The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog in New York, will be a special guest to host two masterclasses. Jack, the ‘Tales of the Cocktail International Bartender of the Year 2013’, will be joined by some of the capital’s best cocktail mixologists, who’ll serve up a range of Irish whiskey cocktails.

A number of Dublin restaurants including Etto, Koh and L Mulligan Grocer, will prepare bite-size dishes to complement some of the whiskies and Cocoa Atelier will present four whiskey and chocolate pairings.

Whiskey masterclasses will run throughout the day and a number of the new Irish distillers will be there talking about their plans for the future while offering samples of their poitins and gins.

A number of craft beers that have been aged in whiskey barrels will also be there.

“All ‘whiskeyphiles’ are welcome to sample popular and unusual whiskeys as well as some lovely pairings of whiskeys and gourmet dishes,” stated event Organiser Ally Alpine of the Celtic Whiskey Shop, “The weekend coincides with the Irish Whiskey Awards which take place earlier during the week, so many award-winners and gold medal-winners will be in attendance at the event. Every year there are new whiskeys to discover as the industry is really exploding in Ireland.”

Unfortunate choice of words?

Tickets are €37.50 and the Celtic Whiskey Shop will donate a minimum of €10 per ticket to Down Syndrome Dublin. Tickets are limited and available from https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/whiskey-live-dublin-2014-tickets-12176392919  or at the Celtic Whiskey Shop, 27-28 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 or by phone 01-675 9744.
