JD Wetherspoon is opening its new Keavan's Port pub and hotel complex on Dublin's Camden Street Upper and Lower on Monday August the 16th following an investment of €27.4 million developing the site which had been derelict for many years.

The pub offers 9,000 square feet of customer space over two floors plus a 3,800 square foot garden across two enclosed courtyards.

A further €6m was spent on the purchase of the property itself. Together, they represent Wetherspoon’s single largest investment in its 41-year history.

The operation will employ 200 full- and part-time staff at the pub and 89-bedroom hotel.

Filip Mordak will manage the pub. Filip has worked for Wetherspoon since 2007 and has previously managed two Wetherspoon RoI pubs The Forty Foot in Dun Laoghaire and The Silver Penny in Dublin.

Wetherspoon has developed a series of eight Georgian townhouses (seven of which are protected) and a chapel. The vast 925-strong UK pub chain has also added a substantial modern extension featuring a 12-metre-high glazed atrium.
