Superquinn own label wine launches

Following the success of its SQ-approved wine range last year, Superquinn is finally introducing its own private label wines

Superquinn has launched its first ever own label range of wines, under the brand ‘Classic Collection.’

The five new French wines will retail at the €7 to €12 price point and are being launched as part of a wider review of Superquinn’s French wine range.

Over 1,700 wines were tasted and five from the best known wine-producing areas in France were chosen to bear the Superquinn Classic Collection label; Chablis, Red Bordeaux, White Burgundy, Red Burgundy and Cotes du Rhône. There are already plans however to extend the range with wines from Chile and Australia.

Wine buyer Richard Moriarty explains: “We launched a range of wines that carried the SQ seal of approval last year, Superquinn’s ‘Superior Quality’ brand, and these wines have beaten all expectations, telling us that customers trust Superquinn to choose great wines. However, customers are also looking for quality wines at the lower end of the price scale and this is exactly where this new range sits.”
