Murphy’s wins prestigious quality award

Murphy's was the only Irish Stout to be recognised by the judges at this years Monde Selection awards

Murphy’s has been awarded the Monde Selection Gold Award – the only Irish stout to be recognised by the Monde Selection judging panel this year

Murphy’s has been awarded one of the world’s most prestigious product quality awards, the Monde Selection Gold Award 2008. The judging panel awarded Murphy’s a coveted Gold Medal, which was presented to brand manager, Pauline Ridge, at a ceremony in Vienna recently. It is the first time that Murphy’s has won a Monde Selection award, and is the only Irish stout to be recognised by the Monde Selection judging panel this year.

Commenting on the win, Pauline Ridge said: “The Monde Selection Gold Award reinforces Murphy’s product quality credentials. We place enormous emphasis on producing a premium stout, and it’s truly gratifying for this to be recognised by one of the most prestigious awards in the world.”

As part of the award win, Murphy’s will now be able to use and highlight the Monde Selection Gold Award 2008 image on its promotional materials. The award will feature prominently in Murphy’s new outdoor advertising “Medals” creative, which will launch in early September. The execution, which follows on from Murphy’s popular “Big Head” and “Millions of People” creatives from earlier this year, will feature the Murphy’s pint alongside the Monde Selection gold medal, with an accompanying message highlighting Murphy’s quality and heritage credentials.
