Morrissey’s wins RAI Best Pub Award

Morrissey’s pub in Abbeyleix won this year’s Best Pub Award 2017 in the Restaurant Association of Ireland’s All-Ireland Irish Restaurant Awards while The Long Hall took the award for Dublin.

John Moran’s Bar in Mayo won the Connaught Best Pub title while Davy Macs in Waterford walked off with the Munster award and The Coach House & Olde Bar in Monaghan took the Ulster title. Morrissey’s took the Leinster award.

The awards took place in the The Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin, recently, with over 900 restaurateurs and staff attending the sold-out, black-tie event.

Dublin’s Chapter One restaurant was named as the All-Ireland Best Restaurant 2017. The restaurant emerged the winner from over 70,000 online nominations cast earlier this year.

The Best All Ireland Gastro Pub award went to Walled City Brewery, Derry, winners of the Ulster award. The Exchequer took the Dublin award while Keenans of Tarmonbarry’s Gastro Bar in Roscommon won the Connaught award. Mary Barry’s Bar in Wexford walked off with the Leinster Award while Morrissey’s Bar and Restaurant in Clare won the Munster award.
