Limerick’s Trinity Rooms club closes with 50 redundancies

Limerick’s famous Trinity Rooms nightclub became one of the latest casualties in the Night Time Economy when it closed permanently with the loss of over 50 jobs recently.

Following a temporary closure by management last June due to what the management there termed “an external health and safety issue”, the club was finally closed for good with the loss of around 30 full-time and 20 part-time posts.

Redundancy payments to many of the staff are also proving problematical, it’s understood, with the club’s directors Tommy O’Doherty, Pat and son Paddy Barry pleading an inability to pay.
