Celtic Whiskey, organisers of the annual Irish Whiskey Awards, are delighted to announce that this year’s ceremony will be held at Midleton Distillery.
The Irish Whiskey Awards, now in their seventh year, span over 21 categories.

The Irish Whiskey Awards, now in their 10th year

The Irish Whiskey Awards will take place at Midleton Distillery on Thursday 26 October 2023 and will see emerging and established Irish whiskey producers and patrons come together to celebrate the best the Irish whiskey and spirits industry has to offer. As with every year, the evening will commence with a tour of the distillery and a drinks reception hosted by Irish Distillers.
The awards are now in their 10th year, this year there are 20 categories spanning across Irish whiskeys and spirits. Judging of this year’s awards will take place in August across the country. Organisers, Celtic Whiskey of Celtic Whiskey Shop Dawson Street, will host several blind tastings in Dublin’s Flowing Tide pub on Abbey Street and have been coordinating other tastings throughout Ireland with members of the Irish Whiskey Society — Dublin and Dingle, Cork Whiskey Society, Waterford Whiskey Society, Kilkenny Whiskey Guild, Ennis Whiskey Club, 1875 Whiskey Club, Carlow Whiskey Society, Belfast Whiskey Club and the Aviator’s Whiskey Society.

This year’s awards will also see the return of the White Spirits and Whiskey Liqueurs categories for which a selected panel of local bar staff, mixologists and industry experts will blind taste and score the Irish Gins, Poitins, Vodkas, Cream Liqueurs, Whiskey Liqueurs and Other Irish Spirits.

Commenting on this year’s awards, organiser Ally Alpine, managing director of Celtic
Whiskey and organiser of Whiskey Live Dublin said, “We are very excited to be able to
co-host this year’s awards at Midleton. The IWA’s are always a fantastic night celebrating the
excellence and innovation in the Irish Whiskey and Spirits industry, all whilst raising funds for
our incredible charity partner Mary’s Meals. There are more than 64 million primary school-age
children out of school around the world. In order to survive, they have to work or beg. Even if
they do make it into the classroom, hunger affects their ability to learn. The money raised
through the Irish Whiskey Awards each year ensures that 629 children are fed for a whole
school year at the Kapatamoyo school in Zambia”.
Mary’s Meals — www.marysmeals.ie — feed two million children everyday, whilst ensuring they
attend school. All proceeds from ticket sales for the night will be donated to sponsor the
Kapatomoyo School in Zambia.

Ticket’s are €70 and sold based on allocation to industry entrants, judges and press via Celtic
Whiskey Shop. Drinks Industry Ireland are the event’s media partner as they have been for many years and key
sponsors include the Irish Whiskey Association and Tuath Irish Whiskey Glass.
