East Regional IPA winners announced
The nine East Regional winners go forward to the National Final of the Irish Pub of the Year Awards at the RDS Concert Hall in Dublin on Wednesday 21st November when the National Category Winners and the overall Irish Pub of the Year – jointly presented by Licensed Vintners Association and the Vintners Federation of Ireland – will be announced.
The East Region Finalists:
Innovative Pub of the Year: Kavanagh’s Bar and Venue, Main Street, Portlaoise, Co Laois
Best Music Pub: The Central Bar, Trimgate Street, Navan, Co Meath
Best Tourist Pub: Micky Finns at the Wicklow Brewery, Redcross, Co Wicklow
Best Outdoor Space: The Terrace at Dinn Rí, Tullow Street, Carlow Town
Outstanding Customer Service: Silken Thomas, Kildare Town
Best Local Pub: The Hideout, Kilcullen, Co Kildare
Best Newcomer: The Brass Fox, Wicklow Town
Best Food: The Hanged Man’s, Milltown, Newbridge, Co Kildare
Pub Personality of the Year: Percy Clendennen, Giltraps, Kinnitty, Co Offaly
Speaking at the Awards Ceremony, VFI President Padraic McCann said, “These Awards are an excellent vehicle to showcase what the pub has to offer the modern customer”.
The prize package for all finalists includes a management training course and they will also avail of comprehensive media coverage at local and national level including a feature in the special awards supplement published in the Irish Independent on the day of the Gala Awards Ceremony.
