€5.6m pre-tax profits at Temple Bar pub

Temple Inns, the company behind The Temple Bar pub, took in €5.6 million in pre-tax profits in the year to 31st October 2018, up 72% on the previous year’s €3.3 million according to the annual report lodged with the Companies Office recently.

Last year’s pre-tax profits figure was up only 3.4% on the year before that.

Operating Profits to the end of October 2018 were up 43% to €5.6 million from €3.9 million the previous year.

Employee numbers rose during the year from 70 to 81 with a 13% rise in staff costs (including wages, directors’ salaries & pensions) to €3.9 million where gross profit (including other operating income such as that from The Temple Bar’s retail outlet adjacent to the pub selling related merchandise) was up 20% to €13.1 million from €10.9 million.

Of this figure, remuneration and pension contributions for the two directors Tom & Jackie Cleary were up 4% to €337,000 from €324,000 the previous year.
