Dropping Well ups profit
Pre-tax profits at Milltown Inns, the holding company for Charlie Chawke's Dropping Well pub in the South Dublin suburb of Milltown were up 5% to €705,790 from €675,529 the previous year according to its consolidated financial statement for the year to the 31st of October 2019, on a turnover down 3% to €10.1 million from €10.4 million the previous year.
Operating profits at the Dropping Well were up 6% to €1.13 million.

Average staff numbers (including the two directors Charlie & Bernice Chawke) rose to 154 from 143 with the addition of 10 new Bar & Restaurant staff and one extra Admin staff member bringing the complement up to seven, with two management staff remaining unchanged from last year brining the full complement to 145.
As a result, staff costs rose 8% to €3.9 million from €3.6 million.
