Diageo held the top spot in both league tables once again with its Johnnie Walker brand being ranked the number one spirit by value and number three premium spirit by volume, with an estimated 16.2 million nine-litre equivalent cases sold in calendar 2010.
The Smirnoff brand retained its position as the top premium spirit in the world by volume with an estimated 24.8 million nine-litre equivalent cases. It was also ranked number two by value, as in last year’s league tables.
Other Diageo brands in the rankings included: Captain Morgan, Jose Cuervo, Baileys, Crown Royal and J&B in the top 20 premium spirits by value and volume. Gordon’s Gin also remained in the top 20 premium spirits by volume.
