Bulmers Original Artists kick off in Cork

Mick Flannery, Jack L, Teddy Thompson and the mighty Ray LaMontagne to name but a few of this year's brilliant line-up

Some of the most distinctive Irish and international voices in music are set to grace the stage this December and January as part of the Bulmers Original Artists Series at the Cork Opera House.

Singer-songwriters Mick Flannery, Jack L, Teddy Thompson and the mighty Ray LaMontagne all line up to complete a bill which sings style and is set to be a must-see for the serious music lover.

Cork will welcome home one of its own sons as Mick Flannery opens the much-lauded Bulmers Original Artists Series on 23 December.

It has been quite a year for the Blarney born singer-songwriter, garnering critical acclaim from both home and abroad.
Jack L takes to the stage on 31 January to do a special New Year’s Eve concert, and promises to do what he has been doing for the duration of his ten-year career; wow the crowd with his unparalleled charisma and utterly unique voice.

Jack L will be performing tracks from his latest album, Burn On, as well as all the hits from his previous seven albums. York-based performer, Teddy Thompson will perform on Saturday 17 Jan, airing tracks from his latest UK Top 10 album ‘A Piece of What You Need’, while American born Ray LaMontagne will take to the stage on Saturday 31 January to perform tracks from his new album ‘Gossip In The Grain’, which debuted in the US Billboard Top 200 at number three.

Gerry Barnes, executive director, Cork Opera House, said: “We are delighted to once again host the Bulmers Original Artists Series at Cork Opera House, this time with concerts by the best singer-songwriters currently at work on both sides of the Atlantic.  The four concerts will celebrate Irish and American musicians who are linked by a shared tradition, though separated by an ocean.”

Marcus Goodwin, Bulmers said: “This year’s line up is a celebration of some of the finest musical talent from both home and abroad and is a rare opportunity to see four artists of such calibre coming together under the one banner.”
