Bulmers launches ‘Secret War’ on Dublin

The cream of London's and Dublin's graffiti artists took to the streets to bring the the 92 calories per bottle of Bulmers Light message to life

The battlefield was set in Dublin on 25 July, as the city hosted its first ever ‘Secret Wars’ graffiti battle, in association with Bulmers Light. A team of three artists flew over from London to battle three of Dublin’s finest in The Bernard Shaw pub on Portobello Road. The innovative art event has been held all over the world in cities such as New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow and now Dublin. To celebrate Secret Wars’ arrival in Ireland, the cream of London’s and Dublin’s graffiti artists took to the streets to create a unique piece of urban art on a massive 48 sheet canvas.

Normally held in the dark corners of cities, artists gather with black paint markers to follow the simple rules of drawing live against each other for 90 minutes. The Dublin battle however, brought the 92 calories per bottle of Bulmers Light message to life, and allowed the artists 92 minutes design time. The winner was decided by the crowd’s reaction and the votes of two judges, with Dublin emerging the clear winner on the night.

Secret Wars has a wide following across all media, from magazines to a wide array of online social networks. Celebrity followers include Kanye West and footballer Thierry Henry.
