Bombay Sapphire remains top premium gin by value

Bombay Sapphire gin increased its value share within the premium gin category from 31.7 per cent to 32.7 per cent for the 12 months to the end of December 2009, according to the International Wine and Spirit Record.

The world’s number one premium gin by value for a second consecutive year has achieved a “consistently strong rate of growth” in value over the last five years and this has continued to improve in 2009 with a compound annual growth rate of 12.0 per cent.

Even in the current economic climate, when many other spirit brands are promoting on price, consumers continue to pay a premium price for Bombay Sapphire, claims John Burke, Global Gin Category Director for Bombay Sapphire owners Bacardi, who pointed out that gin value continues to grow within the Premium White Spirits category.
