Baggot Inn 2nd pub to receive Raising the Bar certification

The Baggot Inn on Dublin’s Merrion Row became the second pub in the country to receive Fáilte Ireland’s ‘Raising The Bar’ national standards certificate in recognition for ‘delivering the customer journey’.

Baggot Inn General Manager Eddie Fitzgerald and his team are committed to ensuring visitors feel welcome when they come and experience The Baggot Inn for themselves as part of their holiday in Ireland’s capital.

When asked why he got involved, he commented,  “We opened The Baggot Inn four years ago and we concentrated on getting established within the Dublin scene. We are now looking at promotional opportunities and feel that being approved with Fáilte Ireland will enable us to reach a huge potential audience.”

Jennifer Churchward in Fáilte Ireland’s Quality and Standards Division emphasised what this scheme means for Irish pubs and licensed premises: “Quality is key when it comes to encouraging visitors to come and indeed, return to Ireland. The standards outlined in this new quality scheme strive to ensure that all visitors feel equally welcome when they come and experience the country and its pubs for themselves. We encourage every pub owner to get involved”.

Ollie Hayes bar in Moneygall, County Offaly, was the first such pub to win this recognition.
