All the sixes for Dom Perignon & Penfolds Grange

Edward Dillon & Co held a Dom Perignon and Penfolds Grange tasting at Restaurant Patrick Gilbaud recently where the winemakers from two of the most iconic brands in the world flew in to take guests through a number of vintages, all ending in the numeral ‘6’.

Dom Perignon Champagne oenologue Vincent Chaperon therefore introduced a collection of champagnes which have never been tasted in Ireland before via four vintages: 1996, ’86, ’76 and ’66.

Five vintages of Grange followed, introduced by Peter Gago, Chief Winemaker of Penfolds, starting with the 1966 and followed by ’76, ’86, 96 and finally 2006.

Following the tasting, Peter and Vincent hosted a dinner for consumers featuring a specially-created menu to accompany the wines.
