AB InBev acquires Goose Island

In keeping with the move of global brewers into the craft brewing sector, AB InBev has acquired Chicago craft brewer Goose Island for $38.8 million. Anheuser-Busch has distributed Goose Island’s beer brands since 2006.

“These critically-acclaimed beers are the hometown pride of Chicagoans,” said Anheuser-Busch President Dave Peacock,  “We are very committed to expanding in the high-end beer segment.”

The deal is expected to be completed by the end of June.
