A pint and a prayer: what tourists to Dublin want

New figures from Tourism Dublin reveal that one in two users of the Dublin Pass visit both a cathedral and a brewery while in Dublin (Dublin Pass is Dublin’s sightseeing pass covering admission to 32 attractions and access to 23 special offers in the Dublin region).

The figures give a valuable insight into what visitors really want from their time in Dublin.

The most popular attractions visited by Pass users are the Guinness Storehouse, the Old Jameson Distillery, Christ Church and St Patrick’s Cathedrals, with 43 per cent of Pass holders visiting a combination of a brewery and a cathedral.

Commenting on the figures, Dublin Tourism Chief Executive Paul Hayden said,  “Dublin’s unique charm means that people can take in high-brow culture, traditional heritage and history and enjoy a drink in a world-famous brewery or distillery. That’s what people want from their time in Dublin and the Dublin Pass makes all of this accessible and affordable to the visitor."
