7 Regional Winners for Best Local Pub

Mellett’s Emporium in Swinford, County Mayo (Connaught Region) joins six other Regional Winners to compete for the national title of Best Local Pub of the Year in this year’s Irish Pub Awards, organised jointly by the Licensed Vintners Association and the Vintners Federation of Ireland.

The other Best Local Pub Regional Winners are The Squealing Pig in Monaghan (North East Region), Vine Cottage Bar in New Ross in County Wexford (South East Region), the Strand Bar in Vicarstown in Cork (Cork Region), Lock 13 Brewpub in Sallins in Kildare (East Region), Cruises Bar in Ennis in County Clare (South West Region) and Harry Byrne’s Pub in Dublin’s Clontarf (Dublin Region).

The Best Local Pub category is sponsored by Diageo and other category winner announcements can be found at www.irishpubawards.ie.

Last year’s Best Local Pub of the Year was won by Kenny’s of Lucan in Dublin.

The Awards, in nine different categories, are being announced over the course of this month in advance of the Gala Awards ceremony taking place on 20th November in the RDS, Dublin.
