Treasure Trail’s €1.76m pre-tax loss

Pre-tax losses at Treasure Trail Holdings, the holding company for Howth Railway Refreshment Rooms, the company behind outlets such as the Bloody Stream in Howth, Wrights Café Bar in Airside and Gilbert & Wright in Malahide, amounted to €1.76 million in the year to the 30th of September 2020 according to the company's consolidated Profit & Loss account, lodged with the Companies Registration Office recently.

 

Turnover at Treasure Trail fell 13.6% to €16.79 million from €19.42 million the previous year.

Staff numbers also fell by nearly 43% to 195 from 342 the previous year, with the number of Operational Staff reducing to 186 from 330, no doubt due to the effects of Lockdown.

The total bill for staff costs (including directors’ salaries) came to €4.26 million, down 18.6% from the previous year’s €5.23 million.

Directors’ remuneration and pension contributions totalled €234,139, down 14.7% from 2019’s €274,502 figure.
