Sky freezes prices for pubs

BSkyB has frozen its prices for next football season and has also introduced a number of new services including a free introductory viewing period for new customers and a Support Your Local campaign with free regionalised POS kits.

The first 3,000 customers logging onto PreviewLIVE before August 13th received free team-specific POS. Through this promotion licensees can choose from any Barclays Premier League or Scottish Premier League team and the POS will be sent to them;  all they have to do is log on to www.previewlive.co.uk. Sky will also be sending all 3D customers free POS.

Iain Holden, Managing Director of Sky Business, commented, “Our aim is to give our customers great value for money while helping them grow their businesses.  Beyond driving more value into the Sky subscription, by holding our prices, we can also help provide just a little more certainty for bars over their entertainment expenditure.”

Huge price hikes year after year have left many pubs both in the UK and here with no alternative but to simply remove Sky from their premises entirely.
