‘Skin-refreshing’ gin introduced

Two entrepreneurial women from Oxford are introducing the world's first gin range distilled with pure collagen, aptly named CollaGin.

With an “elegant and refined taste”, the unique recipe has stayed true to the principles of a classic gin but Camilla Brown and Liz Beswick of Young In Spirit are adding a rejuvenating twist of skin-refreshing botanicals such as star anise, pink grapefruit and orris with the innovative addition of pure collagen.

With 11 botanicals in total, the remaining botanicals featured include vanilla, pink peppercorn, angelica and liquorice. A CollaGin G&T is best served with pink grapefruit, star anise and tonic water, they state.

CollaGin is distilled with America’s number one collagen brand which does not affect the taste, smell or appearance of the gin, meaning drinkers enjoy the benefits of collagen without compromising on the taste of the popular spirit.

“We’ve used complementary botanicals and a dose of pure, powdered collagen so if you’re going to drink gin anyway, why not drink one with added bonuses?” suggests Camilla as her Co-Founder Liz adds, “The gin is fragrant, soft and the aftertaste is velvety, with a hint of vanilla.

The new gin is distilled in the English Midlands and bottled in Lancashire. The 50cl bottle is 40% proof.
