September bar volumes down 20% on 2019

This September's bar sales volumes were up 58.8% on those of September 2020 while values showed growth of 62.9% according to seasonally-adjusted provisional figures from the Central Statistics Office.

 

Last month's bar sales volumes were still down by 20.2% on those of September 2019.

September’s bar volumes were also up 12.3% on those of the preceding month, August, while values grew 16.4%.

However last month’s bar sales volumes were still down by 20.2% on those of September 2019 with values also down, by 16.6%.

Across the three months July to September bar sales volumes showed growth of 29% when compared to the same quarter in 2020 and bar sales values were up 31.7%. Comparing the July-September quarter with the preceding April-June one, bar sales volumes were up by nearly 200% while values were up 203.1%.

Final figures for August show bar sales volumes up 21.0% on those for August 2020 while bar sales values were up 22.6%. Compared to the previous month, July, August’s bar sales volumes were up 30.8% while values rose 21.3%.

General retail sales were up 0.3% this September compared to August on a seasonally-adjusted basis and by 0.7% on an annual basis.
