‘Segmental’ revenues down at Britvic Ireland

Britvic Ireland's 'segmental' revenues for the Island of Ireland fell 16.6% to €161.5 million (£146.6m) in the year to the 30th of September 2020 according to recently-released preliminary results from Britvic plc.lc.

 

While performance in the At-Home channel here was 'robust', "it was more than offset by Out-of-Home declines and the extended closures in the licensed channel impacting Counterpoint sales".

Britvic’s IoI revenues from ‘external customers’ from ‘brand contribution’ was also down 10.8% from €57.3 million (£52m) to €51.1 million (£46.4m)

Britvic has abandoned the breaking down of revenue figures for its Irish operation. Now these are part of its ‘rest of the world’ division which includes France ‘and other international markets’.

In Ireland a weaker water category performance impacted Ballygown in the early Spring Lockdown which resulted in the Newcastle West water factory closing for a brief period.

Overall revenues at Britvic plc showed a decline of 8.6% (at constant exchange rates) to £1.42 billion in the year compared to £1.545 billion the previous year. Pre-tax profits at the UK company were slightly up at £111.2 million with Operating Profits on a par with the previous year at £130.3 million.
