Restaurant/Dining card spend up 170% in February
Debit and Credit Card spend in the Restaurants/Dining sector rose by 169% from €152 million in February 2021 to €409.5 million in February 2022 according to the Central Bank's Credit & Debit Card Statistics for last February.

Compared with the previous month, February’s Debit & Credit Card spend was up 13% on the €361.1 million figure for January.
Social spending increased by 100%, or €332 million, compared to the previous year while it rose by 7%, or €46 million compared to the previous month.
At €231.6 million, spending on ‘Entertainment’ increased by 48%, or €75 million, on the €156.6 million for February 2021.
