Pub licences fall 3% again

Licensed trade data from the Revenue Commissioners show that the number of public house licences fell yet again in 2010 to 7,616 from 2009’s 7,841, a decline of three per cent.

The 2009 figure is also three per cent down on the number of pub licences in 2008 at 8,091, itself down three per cent on the 2007 figure of 8,318.
