Louis Fitzgerald Group’s pre-tax profits jump

Pre-tax profits at Louis Fitzgerald’s pub group rose by 175% to just under €11 million on an operating profit up by 7.7% to €8.1 million in the year to the end of June 2014.

Part of the operating profit figure comprised €5.2 million on disposal of an ‘investment’ during the year.

Turnover was up 4.2% to €56,588,912 as the group runs some of the most prominent pubs in Dublin and Galway including The Quays, Kehoe’s, the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel and the Poitin Still.

During the course of the year, staff numbers rose from 662 to 674 comprising 605 bar staff, 46 bar managers and 23 admin staff. However staff costs were reduced during the year by 3% from €14.7 million to €14.3 million.
