On-trade prices up 3%

Prices in licensed premises rose 3% in March 2014 compared to the same month in 2013 according to CSO figures.

This comprised a rise of 3.5% in spirits prices, a rise of 3.2% in wine prices and a rise of 3.0% in beer prices in the on-trade. Soft drinks and mineral waters rose by 1.5%.

Compared to the previous month, February, on-trade prices showed an increase of 0.1% comprising a 0.2% increase in spirits prices and a 0.1% increase in both wine and soft drinks & mineral water prices.

Nightclub prices fell 0.4% from March 2013 to March 2014 while they fell 0.8% compared to February 2014.
