 Mercantile Group shrinks pre-tax losses

Bar, restaurant, nightclub & hotel operator Mercantile Entertainment Group saw turnover remain on par with 2017 in the year to the 31st of December 2018 according to a Financial Statement from Mercantile’s holding company ‘Ardan Advisory and subsidiary companies’.
At €29.8 million, turnover at the Group, which owns a number of outlets including NoLita and Opium in Dublin, was slightly up on the previous year’s €29.7 million.

Despite this, pre-tax losses, at €257,937, were well down on the €703,209 figure in 2017 and the company declared a return to a six-figure Operating Profit of €968,091 from 2017’s figure of €95,058.

Staff costs for the 312 staff employed (up 11 on 2017) were up 5% to €9.2 million from €8.7 million.
