July bar sales values up 3.8%
Seasonally adjusted provisional CSO figures for July indicate an annual rise of 3.8% in bar sales values accompanied by a rise of
1.5% in bar sales volumes.
On a monthly basis, bar values in July were up 3.3% on the June figure while they were up 2.8% in value.
Final figures for June indicate bar sales volumes remaining flat while bar sales values rose 1.8%. Compared to the previous month, May, bar sales volumes were more or less flat, down 0.2% while values fell 0.4%.
Quarterly bar sales volumes from May to July showed growth of 0.2% on the same period in 2016 while values were up 2.0%. Compared to the previous quarter this year – February to April – the May-July quarter showed a 2.2% fall in volumes and a 0.7% fall in bar sales values.
