Ireland’s first city vineyard

A living, breathing ‘real life’ vineyard will take centre-stage in Dublin’s financial district next year as McGuigan Wines rolls out its hugely successful McGuigan City Vineyard project next Summer, thus creating the first-ever urban vineyard in Ireland from 3rd to 9th September.

Scheduled for late next Summer, the vineyard will have over 80 60-year old Semillon vines, a cellar door, wine barrels, tractors and McGuigan’s Chief Winemaker Neil McGuigan himself.

The vineyard, timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the iconic McGuigan Black Label range, will be a unique city landscape – a tranquil yet accessible space amidst an urban backdrop, states the company. Featuring row upon row of vines, consumers will be encouraged to walk amongst the vineyard whilst sampling the latest new releases from the McGuigan portfolio.

Paul Schaafsma, UK & Ireland General Manager for brand owner Australian Vintage, commented, “The Irish market is full of opportunity and we see the McGuigan City Vineyard concept as an ideal platform from which to engage the trade, consumers and the media with our internationally-recognised brand.”

Throughout the course of the event, the McGuigan City Vineyard will provide an in depth insight into the Australian wine industry, giving wine lovers the chance to rub shoulders with the world’s best winemaking team in a truly unique and ambient setting.

The McGuigan City Vineyard in Dublin follows successful installations in London, Sydney and Melbourne.
