Galway Hooker expands

One of Ireland’s leading craft breweries, the Galway Hooker brewery recently won the Gold Medal for its Irish Pale Ale at the Blas na hEireann Irish Food Awards.

This success comes on the back of a recent expansion and relocation to a new state-of the-art brewery in Oranmore, County Galway. The increased capacity will allow the brewery to produce up to 20,000 litres of its iconic Irish Pale Ale a week. Other beers that the brewery produces include a stout, a dark lager and an India Pale Ale.

The brewery has experienced “phenomenal growth” since its launch in 2006 and is now the third-largest independent brewery in the country. The company’s ethos is to brew all-natural, flavoursome, high-quality and preservative-free beers.

The company currently employs six staff and plans to double this over the next three years.

Famous for its innovation and quality, the brewery is now open for regular tours where visitors can learn all about the brewing of Galway Hooker and taste its range of award-winning beers.

Tours can be booked on its website www.galwayhooker.ie
