Well yes, it seems so. We found ourselves wondering how this neck of the woods got to be Ireland’s fifth-largest export destination and asked around.
Simply look at its geographical proximity to Russia and things begin to make sense.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has put a ban on doing business with the EU but the Russians have proved themselves fond of our Irish whiskey and other such beverages from Ireland.
Speculation remains rife that many of the food and beverages being exported to Latvia are bound for onward re-export, eastwards…..
