€700k losses at Bloody Stream parent

Pre-tax losses at Howth Railway Refreshment Rooms, the company behind the Bloody Stream in Howth, Wrights Café Bar in Airside and Gilbert & Wright in Malahide, amounted to €697,057 in the year to the 31st March 2017 according to an abridged financial statement lodged with the Companies Office recently, as Operating profits fell from €409,514 to €257,091.

Parent company the Wright Bar Group has a 51% stake in the HRRR, which employs 118 bar staff and five admin staff. HRRR paid out €2.6 million in wages (including directors’ remunerations), social welfare and pension costs last year, up from the previous year’s €2.5 million.
