€7.9m pre-tax profits for Burtse

Publican Louis Fitzgerald’s Burtse, the largest holding company in the Louis Fitzgerald portfolio of pubs and hotels, enjoyed a pre-tax profit of €7.89 million on a turnover of €57.78 million in the year to June 30th 2016 according to documents lodged with the Companies Office recently.

Burtse holds Kehoe’s pub in South Anne Street, The Big Tree on Dorset Street and The Louis Fitzgerald Hotel on the Naas Road as well as the Quays bars in Dublin and Galway in its portfolio which brought in an Operating Profit of €11.72 million.

Overall profits of €1.6 million were declared.

Altogether the entire Burtse group’s bar operations brought in €29.94 million while its food operation brought in €12.81 million and its off-licence business had incomes of €2.25 million.

Accommodation income at Burtse totalled over €10 million in the year to 30th June 2016 while its nightclub business brought in €505,235.

Staff costs at the company were €14.13 million during the financial year for some 407 bar staff, 165 operations staff, 36 managers and four admin staff while directors emoluments totalled €432,884.
