Dublin’s BAR 1661 nominated Top 10 Cocktail Menu in the World

Dublin’s BAR 1661 has again been named among the world’s Top 10 Cocktail Menus by the Spirited Awards
The Spirited Awards have once again named Dublin venue BAR 1661 as one of the Top 10 Cocktail Menus in the World.
Honouring excellence across the global bar industry, BAR 1661 features alongside bars from Washington DC, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Paris, Singapore, Barcelona, New York and London for the accolade, presented by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation in New Orleans in July 2026.

BAR 1661 have been recognised again for their groundbreaking 28-drink ‘We Call This Power’ menu, which last year made it to the Top four in this prestigious prize, a first for Ireland.
The menu is built the premise of community, collaboration and cocktails, and champions the incredible quality of products and producers from across Ireland – now front and centre on the world stage for a second year running.
Two-time winner of Ireland’s Bar of the Year and seven-time Best Cocktail Bar, BAR 1661 has helped reshape the conversation around Ireland’s native spirit both at home and abroad with over half the drinks of the menu made with poitín.
From Bán, Micil, Glendalough, Mad March Hare and more, alongside some of Ireland’s smallest artisan producers from Valentia Island Vermouth to Kinsale Mead, these products are now being tasted with some of the best in the world.
There is still a rare chance to taste the We Call This Power menu cover to cover.
BAR 1661 Experiences give locals and visitors to Dublin alike the chance to take a deep dive into why the global bar industry has turned its attention to this small corner of Dublin’s northside.
Two guided experiences take guests through the menu drink by drink, with the stories, techniques and partnerships behind each serve.
The Immersive Experience is three hours, 28 drinks, the full menu in mini serves, and The Distilled Experience is 90 minutes, 14 drinks, an early evening tasting bookended by the bar’s iconic Belfast Coffee and Irish Coffee.
Tickets are available now until the end of July, and August will be the last month for the Power menu experiences before bookings close, making way for something new coming this Autumn.
Taking place around a shared table, and limited to just ten seats, the Distilled Experiences (€90 pp) take place on Saturdays from 5pm-6.30pm, and Immersive Experiences (€165 pp) take place on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm -10.30pm.
Tickets are extremely limited and available from https://shop.bar1661.ie/collections/experiences.
This summer guests can also enjoy drinks from the internationally lauded cocktail menu before it’s gone for good on BAR 1661’s terrace overlooking Saint Michan’s Park which catches the sun all day.
Open from 5pm on weekdays and 2pm on weekends, it’s perfect for a sundowner from the award winning menu, or from the summer spritz menu coming soon. Booking is recommended, though walk ins are welcome.
Since opening its doors in 2019, with a mission to showcase Ireland’s native spirit poitín, and to lift Irish cocktail culture to new heights internationally, BAR 1661 has consistently brought a staunchly Irish and fiercely independent approach to everything it does.
The only venue in the Republic of Ireland to hold two PINS, denoting ‘Exceptional’ from The Pinnacle Guide, along with its sister venue The Sackville Lounge off O’Connell Street, BAR 1661 is well known for its bar takeovers at home and abroad, cementing Ireland’s reputation for talent and creativity, and as an internationally recognised destination for cocktail enthusiasts.
