December volumes up 2.1% on 2015

The volume of retail sales in bars grew 2.1% in December compared with December 2015 while values grew 3.0% according to provisional CSO figures for December.

Compared to November 2016, December’s provisional bar sales volume figures showed a decrease of 0.4% and a value decrease of 0.2%.

Final CSO figures for November indicate a 2.1% increase in sales volumes compared to November 2015 with a 2.9% increase in sales values.

Compared to October 2016, bar sales volumes in November were down 1.0% while values fell 1.7%.

The October-December quarter’s provisional figures indicate a 2.6% rise in bar sales volumes compared to the same quarter in 2015 and a 3.5% rise in bar sales values.

The quarter was also up 0.3% in bar sales volumes on the July to September quarter, up 0.4% in value.
