Dates set for 3 Wetherspoon openings here

June 23rd has been set for the opening of The Great Wood in Blanchardstown by UK pub operator JD Wetherspoon.

Another two pub openings will follow with The Old Borough in Swords set to open on July 21st and The Linen Weaver in Cork on September 1st.

At present Wetherspoon has two pubs in the Republic of Ireland, The Three Tun Tavern at Blackrock and the Forty Foot in Dun Laoghaire which all form part of the company’s €6 million investment in developing new pubs which will create around 150 jobs.

“Our first two pubs have proven extremely popular and we’re looking forward to opening our next three pubs,” commented JD Wetherspoon’s Chairman Tim Martin, “We’ve also acquired a number of other sites in the Republic of Ireland and look forward, in due course, to developing and opening them as Wetherspoon pubs.

“We’re also continuing to look for good sites across the Republic of Ireland.”
