Damien Heary appointed Global Planning & Innovation Director at William Grant & Sons

William Grant & Sons Ltd has appointed Damien Heary as Global Planning and Innovation Director.

Former Head of Planning at Publicis QMP (Dublin) and a member of the Board with responsibility for strategic planning on key clients including Meteor, Renault, Cadbury, VHI and Miller, Damien was also Head of the Publicis Ireland’s international digital research company AskChili.

He joins William Grant & Sons’ Global Marketing Leadership Team and is the third director to be based in Dublin since the establishment of the Global Marketing Office there in 2010, joining Shane Hoyne (Tullamore Dew Global Brand Director) and Enda O’Sullivan (Sailor Jerry Global Brand Director) and their teams.

Damien will lead the innovation and planning teams in Ireland, the UK and US. 

He also assumes responsibility for generating and applying consumer insights to drive brand marketing activity for the entire William Grant & Sons portfolio globally in addition to leading the further growth of an innovation culture across the company in the development of new products.

Formerly Copenhagen-based Global Brand Manager for Carlsberg, he’d been a brand manager for Diageo in Ireland on Carlsberg and innovation projects.
