Corona Cork Film Festival celebrates forthcoming 56th

A party heralding the upcoming Corona Cork Film Festival (6-13th November) took place in The Bodega Bar, Cornmarket Street, Cork recently when Festival Director Mick Hannigan welcomed guests to the first of a series of events to highlight the Festival’s 56th year.

The night was also a celebration of the fifth consecutive year of Corona Extra’s title sponsorship with Michael & Kathleen Barry of Barry & Fitzwilliam (distributors of Corona Extra) in attendance to lend their support.

Gary Conway, Country Manager of Corona UK and Ireland, also flew in from the UK for the event and Film Festival Board members Denis McSweeney, Finola Doyle-O’Neill and Mary McCarthy joined Michelle Horgan, Marketing Manager of the Festival, to celebrate what’s now one of Cork’s premier events.

The Bodega was adorned in yellow and guests were served a refreshing slice of Corona cake as part of the celebrations along with bottles of Corona Extra and lime and a selection of mouth-watering local delicacies, compliments of Benny McCabe, Proprietor of The Bodega. The fantastic evening was topped off with music by Yossi Valdman, a local Cork guitarist and pianist.

The 56th Corona Cork Film Festival will take place in venues throughout Cork city including The Cork Opera House, the Gate Cinema and the new Christchurch venue from November 6-13.
