C&C Group extends NZ partnership

The C&C Group has extended its strategic partnership with Coca-Cola Amatil in New Zealand, thus consolidating the number of international platforms it’s setting up for distribution of its Magners cider brand beyond the UK.

Earlier this month C&C announced the establishment of a trading partnership with San Miguel in Thailand to drive international expansion of Magners in Asia, a continent with a growing grá for cider.

The 10-year NZ agreement is for both its Magners and Tennents Lager brands.

C&C Group and Coca-Cola Amatil have had a distribution agreement on Magners in New Zealand since 2014 and based upon the success of the last two years have agreed to new commercial terms resulting in a 10-year strategic partnership between the two companies.

Under the terms of the new deal Coca Cola Amatil and C&C group will enter into a profit and marketing investment-sharing agreement to strengthen Magners competitiveness, marketing and route to market.

“This new strategic partnership will allow us to collaborate on a long-term basis to ensure we position Magners and Tennents to participate in meaningful long-term market growth,” commented Conor Hardy, C&C’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific.
