Wrights Café Bar to permanently close its doors 

The popular late-night venue, a staple in the Swords community, will shut its doors for good after ringing in the New Year

Wrights Café Bar has always been the late-night spot for Swords and surrounding areas

The longstanding Wrights Cafe Bar in Swords will be closing its doors after 23 years on 1 January 2025.  

According to Wrights Cafe Bar spokesperson, “It is now time for something different. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our amazing customers, friends and staff. We have loved making memories and celebrating the good times with you all. It’s the end of the Café Bar era but watch this space.”

Wrights Cafe Bar mentioned they will be introducing a new concept in the new year but haven’t disclosed what it is yet. 

Additionally, Wrights Cafe Bar were the recent winners of Best Late Night Bar at the Irish Pub Awards back in October. 

Speaking to Drinks Industry Ireland, Michael Wright, owner of Wrights Cafe Bar, said: We were thrilled to win this award; it genuinely means so much to the team and to our customers!”

Wrights Café Bar has been a local mainstay in Swords for 23 years and has always been the late-night spot for Swords and surrounding areas.

“Careful consideration goes into our late-night plans including DJ’s, style of music, ensuring a safe and happy environment for all to enjoy, well crafted drinks and great cocktails along with an unrivalled atmosphere! 

“We love going that bit extra with production and always have confetti canons at the ready to celebrate any occasion! Our team want each and every customer to feel welcome and have the best night of their lives. We are ending the year and the Café Bar’s legendary reputation on a high with this award,” said Wright.
