Smirnoff retains top spirit brand

Top Irish drinks brand Baileys sold an estimated 6.5 million cases worldwide in 2015, repeating its 2014 performance and retaining its 10th place position in the top 100 spirits brands according to the latest Impact Top 100 Spirits Brands table, published recently by Impact.

Jameson retains its 15th place although volumes increased 8.2% to an estimated 5.3 million cases from 4.9 million cases in 2014.

Overall, Diageo’s Smirnoff brand continued as top dog in the table, selling an estimated 26 million cases of vodka, up 1.5% on 2014’s 25.6 million case figure.

Diageo is also responsible for second-placed Jonnie Walker Scotch. Despite sales falling by 2.0% to an estimated 17.6 million cases last year from 17.9 million cases in 2014, it leapfrogged Bacardi Rum which fell one position to third place with sales of 17.4 million cases, down 4.5% on 2014’s 18.2 million case figure.
